Photo → clean scanned PDF

Snap a page. We find the edges, flatten the angle, kill the shadow and sharpen the text.

Scan cleanup

What the cleanup actually does

  • Edge detection + perspective correction — finds the page in the photo and warps the tilted quadrilateral back into a straight rectangle.
  • Shadow removal — estimates the lighting across the page and divides it out, so the shadow of your hand or phone disappears.
  • Background whitening — pushes grey paper to clean white without eating faint text.
  • Text sharpening — unsharp masking tuned for printed characters, plus an adaptive black & white mode for the crispest, smallest files.
  • Multi-page — keep adding photos; they become one PDF in order.

Frequently asked questions

Can I scan an ID card front and back into one PDF?

Yes. Photograph the front, tap “Add another page”, photograph the back, then download — both pages land in one PDF, cropped and straightened.

Does it work with iPhone HEIC photos?

Yes. HEIC and HEIF from the iPhone camera are decoded in the browser, with EXIF rotation applied automatically.

How do I get rid of the shadow across my document?

Leave “Remove shadows” on. It builds an illumination map of the page and divides it out, which flattens hand and phone shadows and uneven window light.

Which mode should I use?

Grayscale looks like a real scanner for most paper. Black & white gives the sharpest text and the smallest file — best for forms. Colour keeps stamps, highlighter and signatures.

Is the photo uploaded?

Never. Edge detection, warping and cleanup all run on your device with canvas — no server sees your document.
